Thermistors and thermocouples
Thermocouple is a temperature transducer whose functioning is based on the thermoelectric effect.
Thermocouples are used because they are a cheap product, they can be substituted easily, they are standard and they can measure a big range of temperatures.
Their biggest limit is the precision, in fact systematic mistakes smaller than 1°C are difficult to be obtained. Furthermore thermocouples are not-linear devices.
Thermistor, usually called RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector), is a temperature sensor which uses the resistivity variation of some materials according to the temperature change.
Some models:
THERMOCOUPLES AND THERMISTORS – Obtained from cable – Cheap price – AISI 316 sheath – Spring against bending – Working temperature depending from the cable type |
THERMOCOUPLES AND THERMISTORS – Obtained from cable – Bayonet fitting ¼’’ std – Cheap price – AISI tip – Working temperature depending from the cable type |
THERMOCOUPLES AND THERMISTORS – MgO execution with ending cable or with connection head – Use versatility – AISI 304/Inconel 600 – Spring against bending – Transition glass – For thermocouple diameter from 0.5mm |
THERMOCOUPLES AND THERMISTORS – Classic execution – Connection head DIN B – AISI 304 Sheath – Working temperature depending from the thermocouple type |
